I came into development through business analysis and QA. That taught me to pin down what a system is supposed to do before I build it, and to test it hard after. Recent builds span a full IoT access-control system, from RFID gate hardware to a live monitoring dashboard; a Python CLI that quality-checks dozens of freelance deliverables; and front-end for the open-source transparency platform BetterGov.ph.

About

I started building to solve my own problems. For four years I freelanced as a technical editor and subtitle localizer for international clients, and the same bottleneck kept slowing me down: tracking timing and quality across dozens of videos by hand. So I wrote a Python CLI to do it, with checks that flag bad subtitle lines before they go out. It was the first thing I built because I needed it, not because someone assigned it.

Since then I've worked as a business analyst and QA, and both changed how I write code. I don't open the editor first. I start by working out what a system is supposed to do and who depends on it, then I test it hard once it runs. To me, requirements and quality are not paperwork wrapped around engineering. They are what keep a build from solving the wrong problem neatly.

Now I'm a final-year BSIT student specializing in cybersecurity at Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna. Outside coursework I contribute to BetterGov.ph, building the Calamba City transparency portal, because I care how local government serves the people who depend on it. I'm looking for a full-stack developer role where I can own a problem from the first requirement to the code that ships.
